This is the beginning of a children's book that I started making some time ago. It is about a child that goes to school and daydreams about being in space, fighting dragons, becoming an artist, and many other things all because he wants to impress his teacher. He is very fond of her.
The artwork is mixed media using mostly markers, colored pencils, crayons, and cutting and pasting different textured/colored paper. I really enjoyed making most of this children's book, but alas! I had no idea that I shouldn't have started working on the finished product before I submitted the rough outline and sketches to a publisher first. So, I have this entire children's book that is basically finished that I probably can't sell to a publisher, and it just stays in a folder in my desk. Maybe one day I will redo it the professional way, or maybe one day I will just put it together myself and self-publish it. I don't really know.
And now that I am looking at it... I think I could redo it with much better artwork. I like the colors and textures, but the subject itself could be more interesting. My scanner did not do this justice.

Wow, that's really cute :D Kind of reminds me of Adventure Time (the tv show)! I wish I could draw like you :P Anyways, I'd like to see more of your artwork, followed!
I'd like to read it. :D
Nice blog.
Yeah, i love the way you've drawn the various elements, i'd love to buy this for my son.
Cute idea, I absolutely adore the art style of that picture! Care to show us more?
Awesome review! Love your writing style! Keep up the good work!
Thanks for the comments, friends! I will definitely get more pictures of this up. I DID just happen to notice that the shadow on the school and the shadow on the child are going in different directions. That upsets me, because it reminds me of the images from the moon-landing by NASA that lots of people consider fake. My illustration looks like a bad photoshop. :(
So I may just redo it all whenever I have time, or work on something completely different.
The more pictures the better I say!
